Kinesiology Tape - Is it a help or a hindrance ? The answer to both of those questions is a resounding ... YES! It can be used to support and stabilise an area without restricting movement, may aid in inflammation via its lymphatic effects, enhance and improve posture as well as assist in the correction of movement patterns. You may be saying... this is AMAZING ! And it is, the only problem is that the taping in and of itself is not the end all be all. It’s used as an aid to other treatments and techniques. I, just as many others, have gone to races only to see participants look like extras in the movie The Mummy. In order to utilise it to its potential, we need to address the reasons the affected areas are dysfunctional. Working with a physical therapist, personal trainer, massage therapist, Catalyst, etc can not only point you in the right direction, but take you to a level you’ve never been before. Any questions ?
